Hi there!

I'm Jack, a 19-year-old photographer from Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. Having grown up in one of the most beautiful places on the planet, I've always loved the outdoors and am passionate of photographing the world around me.

I first picked up a camera in the summer of 2017 on a road trip with my family in the Canadian Rockies after hogging the one my dad brought along, wanting to capture the breathtaking locations that we were visiting. I quickly found myself taking photos of nearly everything, from mountains to meadows, roads, and rivers, capturing every single thing that I found interesting during my trip. I loved being able to document the places I've been and the things I've seen the way I see them with just a single photo. Since then, I have always had a camera by my side wherever I go.

Over the years, I have dedicated my time to learning more about the technical side of photography, having spent four years in my high school photography program using both digital and analog cameras and learning all their ins and outs. I was also able to learn about and experiment with composition and different shooting techniques, as well as how to properly edit, print, and present my photos, all in an effort to enrich my understanding of the art.

But, perhaps more importantly, I have also since developed an eye for seeing the world around me as art, and this is what photography, for me, has come to be all about. Wanting to compose a photo from the objects, structures, animals, and scenery I see around me every day compels me to find the unique beauty and interest in them that makes them worth being captured. And now more than ever I have found myself loving travelling and exploring, and my passion for photography has taught me to better live in the moment and appreciate my surroundings. I know that photography will always keep me creative and connected to the world in a way that nothing else does.
My hope is that my work inspires you to appreciate and take in the interesting and intricate world we live in.
